Latest "Statistics"

My niece Jaclyn always wants to know Jakob's "statistics". Our two week check-up at the doctor's office went really well. He is doing great and growing rapidly. As of today, he weights 8lbs 1oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. He's gaining about 1.5oz a day! Each day I look at his little face, hands, and feet and can't believe how much he has grown. There's no doubt he's built just like his daddy!

Belle 10/14/06

We were so lucky to have my mom with us this night. She had actually been in Houston for a workshop at Rice University. She changed her flight to spend the rest of the weekend at our house. This picture was taken at Jay's birthday party at the O'Brian's . Jakob was so happy to have his Belle in Houston!

Happy Birthday, Jay!

For Jay's birthday, I decided to surprise him at the office. We had Louvenia convince him he had a meeting but it was really with us. When we arrived, he was a little confused. We had a great lunch at Applebee's before he had to get back to work.

Baby Blue

When Jay and I had been dating for about a year, we went to Georgia for his Grandmother Biddy's 90th birthday. Three months later, she passed away and I sang at her funeral. Now two years later, we received one of the most wonderful gifts - a beautiful crocheted blanket. Nance received it from Aunt Judy who had completely forgotten about it until she found it in a box in the closet. The box was labeled "Biddy Baby Afghan". Following her birthday, Grandmother Biddy made two blankets for her "grandchildren to come". We received one and the other went to Hayden. What a precious gift we will treasure always.
