Harry Potter

Jay goes crazy whenever a new Harry Potter book is released. Not because he's a fan or an avid reader, but because his wife is and he knows he won't see her for several days. Now he jokes that I'm so obsessed I've injured our child to look like the famouse boy who lived. Not really, but it is pretty funny.

Jakob was crawling around my feet while I was seated at the breakfast table. He face planted into the iron base. He barely cried and I couldn't believe he let me put a cool pack on it. He's so tough and brave...much like Harry Potter!

I love when Jakob gets out of the bathtub. He smells AMAZING! His hair is so curly and he's so much fun. He loves being in the water and when he gets out, he's so happy. He's getting a lot of hair and we're having fun styling it. His newest style is the "cupid-mohawk". I can't put the camera down.

We had some friends over for dinner tonight and I decided to make some banana bread. To keep Jakob entertained, we decided to put some crumbs on his high chair. I wasn't sure he would like it. He is not a big fan of non-babyfood yet. But, just like his parents, Jakob Pierce LOVES banana bread. I've tried to save every last crumb to pacify him while we sit down and eat.

Today I took Jakob swimming with my nieces Jaclyn and Lauren. We had such a good time. Jakob loved the water. He was a little reluctant at first, but once he got in, he was like a little fish. We even saw one of my former students, Jasmin and her family.

Happy 4th of July! We hope you all had a wonderful day and took a moment to celebrate our great nation's independence. Thanks to all who have served. We are free because of you! Say a pray for those who are serving. We stay free because of them. I'm especially proud this year because that includes my wonderful AJ!

Jakob on the Farm

Jakob on the Farm

For the 3rd and 4th of July, we drove out to our friend Ben's farm which is outside of Sealy, TX. I think Jakob looks so cute in his overalls playing with this Fisher Price farm, on the farm. He was totally content playing all by himself like a big boy.

We were so excited to get out of town and enjoy some peace and quiet. We were even more excited about disturbing the peace and quiet with some fireworks. Jakob was okay the first ten minutes, but he started crying after that. Amazingly, he slept through the whole show. I don't know if Astro was more afraid of the fireworks or the cows. He was so scared, he crawled up into the stroller with Jakob. We hope you all enjoyed some pyrotechnics of your own.

Book Buddies

My mom bought Jakob this adorable Veggie Tales book that has sound. Jakob has learned to press the button on each page. He's so smart! Whenever I want to distract him or have him calm down, we sit down with this book. He likes the noises and movable parts. I like that fact that he can't eat it! (Paper and board books are not safe around our little goat boy.) Happy reading to all the Biddy Bloggers out there.
