Happy Birthday, Momma

For my birthday, we enjoyed a nice family dinner at BJ's. When we got home, we ate some of the best cake I've ever eaten! Jakob couldn't keep his fingers out of the delicious, almond flavored icing. My sweet mom and dad ordered the cake for me as a surprise. What they didn't know was, the lady they used had actually made our wedding cake. Jay randomly picked someone from the internet who happened to be close to our home. I like to call it divine intervention!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

For Jay's birthday we drove into Houston to eat at the Cheesecake Factory (one of our favorites!). If you've ever eaten there, you know that there is at least an hour wait no matter what day or the time of day. You can just imagine how much fun Mr. Jakob was by the time we got our table.

Swimming with Tia & Jaxson

Andrea and I really enjoyed taking Jakob & Jaxson to the neighborhood pool. Both boys refused to go down the frog slide. Andrea "convinced" Jakob to go down with her twice. It took him quite a while to warm up to her again after that. Jaxson was a little more forgiving.

Space Center

I finally got my sister and Jaxson to come to Houston for a visit. I only had to bribe her with a trip to Space Center to see the Star Wars exhibit. Don't believe what the site tells you. The exhibit is pretty lame! The real reason to visit is Daredevil Island. However, I thought she was going to pee in her pants when a Storm Trooper came over and we were able to take a picture. She's quite an obsessed fan. All-in-all, we had a GREAT time together. I can't wait to take Jakob when he's older.

Hippie Couture

On July 7th, my parents will celebrate their 35th anniversary. To celebrate, much of our family visited the Long Star Acres for this and the 4th of July. We took many great family photos, but this is my favorite. Andrea and I are wearing our 2 favorite dresses that we would play dress-up in as little girls. Andrea is wearing my mother's wedding dress and I'm wearing a dress that she took on her honeymoon. I believe both were purchased at Casual Corner while working for her sister, Rose. Don't tell anyone, but I stole mine!!! ;)

Happy New Year!

After much deliberation, I finally convinced myself (and Jay) to cut my hair and go darker. The blond was just too much work, not to mention expensive. I'm really enjoying it. I actually do my hair everyday instead of putting it into a wet ponytail.

Nashville, Baby!

Because, I'm the best wife on the planet, I get to be the photo center of this blog.
Jay is one of the most difficult people to surprise. I have to resort to some pretty sneaky tactics in order to do so. With Jay's 30th birthday approaching, I knew I had to do something big.
Jay loves the Tennessee Titans. So I decided to surprise him with a trip to see the Titans play the Colts in Nashville.
My mom flew in to watch Jakob for the weekend. When Jay walked in and saw her, he definately looked confused. Then, I handed him his bag and we left immediately. The entire way to the airport (and for the rest of the trip), Jay would exclaim, "Nashville, Baby!"
He loved the trip and was so surprised. I don't know how I'll ever top this.

Date Night

This picture is really for my mom. I know you all really only want pictures of Jakob. I completely understand, he is adorable and amazing! Jay's cousin had a beautiful wedding in Galveston. We were baby free and it was nice to be Allyson the Wife and not Allyson the Mom for a few hours. As fun as it was, we couldn't wait to get back to our little man.

Honey, we're home!

The big day has finally arrived. We are now proud home owners. It's so nice to have a place to call home and stop living out of a suitcase. It's been a long, fun, four months. Can't wait to have all of you over for a Diet Coke and the grand tour!

Our House

For weeks it seemed as though the house was moving at a snail's pace. But recently, major changes have occured everyday. In one week we have cabinets, tile, granite, plumbing fixtures, and stair railing. There are so few things left I can't believe it. It's fun to see how all of the items you chose fit together. Hopefully we will be able to move in by the middle of July.

House Update

Our house is really coming along. They're very close to being able to sheetrock the interior. We try to go over once a week to see the progress. Now that we live in Cypress, it's not as easy to find the time. Making the drive to and from school has not been terrible but it has not been fun either. Jakob is such a trooper and sleeps the entire way both coming and going. I will not lie, I can't wait for May 24th when I don't have to wake up at 5am and make the drive to Clear Lake.

Our House

I know! I know! Two pictures in one night that don't involve Jakob is two too many for you. However, we're so excited about the progress of our house. They've actually come even further than this. All of the windows are in and so are the bathtubs. It will be done before we know it. Also, there are new photos at www.walgreens.com.

Killer Bees

I know, like my mom, most of you don't care about pictures unless they include Jakob. However, this is unlike anything I've ever seen in my life. When Jay got home this afternoon, a neighbor lady stopped him. A swarm of bees had been chasing her car down the street and she tracked them to our front yard. The hive is at least 12 inches long and there's no telling how many bees there are. Click on the photo to see that this is SOLID bees. The exterminator will be here at 7 am to spray. They'll be able to tell at that time if they're actually Africanized Honey Bees (killer bees). Rest assured, we're taking extra precautions going in and out of the garage to protect our precious Jakey!

Happy Anniversary!

Jay and I celebrated our first wedding anniverary. Cousin Hayden had Jakob over so we could enjoy a nice dinner out alone. We're so blessed to have our little family grow this year from two to four (including Astro of course). We can ony imagine the blessings God has planned for us in the next year and years to come.

The Gang's All Here

It has been so nice to have my brother, sister, and nephew here for my birthday. We have had such a great time hanging out, laughing, shopping, watching movies, and of course...loving on Jakob. We just wish we lived closer to one another. We love you Annie, AJ and Jack Jack!!

Kung Fu Fighting!

Jaxson Wurm was Kung Fu Fighting! We always laugh hysterically at Jaxson. He put on Andrea's headband/scarf and was dancing around the living room. Jay was playing the song Kung Fu Fighting on his cell phone and teaching Jaxson to karate chop. I don't know which is funnier...the headband or the pacifier!

Sound of Music

Last night we had the pleasure of watching our Little Alli and Kristen in the Westchester High School production of the Sound of Music. Both girls were WONDERFUL!!! Kristen was Liesl, the oldest, and Alli played the part of Marta, the second youngest. Kristen and Alli were of course the most talented singers and the most beautiful girls in the whole production. This was a special night because it was Jakob's first exposure to a theatrical performance. Our sweet little angel slept through the whole thing.
